Flexible Duct Connector
Flame Retardent Flexible Duct Connectors
A flexible duct connector is an airtight, flexible joint consisting of a fabric that is securely fastened to the sheet metal on both sides. We use flexible duct connectors to connect two ducts. Flexible duct connectors are used in duct systems as an attachment between equipment and ductwork to isolate vibration and noise.
Our Flexible Duct Connector consists of a flame retardant fabric protected from galvanized sheet metal by a double lock seam inserted between the equipment/air duct and the ductwork to eliminate vibration, noise, and wear Resistive to provide an airtight flexible connection.
All mechanical equipment such as air handling units, fan coil units, and ventilation fans generate noise and vibration when in use. In order to eliminate the noise and vibration resulting from transmission through air ducts, it is necessary to install an airtight flexible joint between the outlet of the equipment and the inlet of the ducts.
During manufacturing, the joint formed by joining a layer of fabric to two strips of metal on either side is called a "flexible duct connector". The most important part of this Flexible Duct Connector is the fabric that has to be selected to suit the specific needs of each installation.

The following fabric varieties are available
1) Vinyl Fabric
Vinyl is the most commonly used fabric for all air duct installations due to its high tear strength and high abrasion resistance. Vinyl is recommended for ductwork systems with low to medium pressure.
2) Neoprene Fabric
Neoprene is recommended for use in applications where high mechanical strength is required. Neoprene is extremely resistant to most alkalis, gasoline, and toxic fumes.
3) Silicone Fabric
The silicone fabric has a special silicone rubber coating that has excellent resistance to high and low temperatures. It is recommended for application where high temperature is the main concern in both indoor and outdoor installations.
